Design of a Non-Diaphragm Driver for the UFABC Hypersonic Wind Tunnel Proceedings Article Benetti, Monã Hegel; Rêgo, Israel Silveira Resumo | Links | BibTeX | Tags: design, Hypervelocity, Wind tunnel @inproceedings{Mon\~{a}2011Hypervelocityb, Laboratory study of hypersonic vehicles and air- breathing engines such as “waveriders” and scramjets demands experimental facilities capable of simulating fligths at Mach numbers in excess of 5 with high stagnation temperatures. This paper shows the design and operational principle of a non- diaphragm driver for a hypersonic impulse wind tunnel at Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC). Such a diaphragmless driver operates without the necessity of using the conventional the non- diaphragm. Experimental advantages of using diaphragm driver are much cleaner flowfields, no erratic runs, good reproducibility and costliness setup of the facility within minutes. QWIP DESIGN: AN APPROACH USING THE TRANSFER Proceedings Article IN, MATRIX METHOD TO CALCULATE THE BOUND STATES Resumo | Links | BibTeX | Tags: design, quantum wells infrared photodetectors, transfer matrix method @inproceedings{MATRIX2008quantumb, This work presents a technique to calculate bound states in both conduction and valence band in complex quantum well structures. QW physics and the Transfer Matrix formalism are discussed. Analytical solutions to solve 2x2 Hamiltonians, as well as numerical results from TM are presented too. The theoretical data are compared with results from the literature and measurements from actual device. The results show good agreement between all compared data, indicating that TMM has a great potential to be used in QWIP design. |
